RARE 1868 ROBERT E LEE & MARY CUSTIS LEE SIGNED 5" x 7"  CABINET CARD PHOTOGRAPH.  Signed by Lee on the front. Back inscription from Mary C Lee ( Lee's Wife 1807-1873) to Archie W Houston a noted family in Virginia. From Warm Springs Virginia. Dated July 25 1868  in wooden  6" x  9" frame
Robert E. Lee: Pristine Peter Gibbs Cabinet Photo.
Extremely sharp and clear example. Back mark of P. E. Gibbs of Richmond.. Peter Gibbs occupied a studio previously used by Vannerson ( another noted Lee photographer). This Photo dates post-November 1866 when Gibbs changed addresses from 77 Main Street to 1427 Main Street. Sharp corners. Exceptional in all respects.
This is a super rare dual signature with date and inscription large cabinet photograph. Most are CVD's. These normally  sell for well over 00 for CVD size.
Found in Albany NY area estate so no COA with this item.
