This is a great 1/6 plate ,with  an I'DED name written on the back H.B.CHASE  ,CHASE was with the 1ST VERMONT ,COMPANY A. HEAVY ARTILLERY, he enlisted on 24th of November 1863 at the age of 18 as a private, he was mustered in at Wheelock, Caledonia co.Vermont. Chase was captured at : Weldon Railroad, Petersburg, Virginia,23rd June 1864 and had bad luck to end up in the worst prison in the confederacy ,''ANDERSONVILLE'' where on,Sept 16th 1864 he died of DISEASE. I will send you the history.  The mustache, and kepi give this guy a great look. The cased copper surround are in great condition the tape hinge is weak ,easy replacement.
