31ST IOWA CIVIL WAR IDENTIFIED CDV PHOTO MAQUOKETA

Description

An original Civil War CDV photo of Captain Adam Gebert of Co. F, Company, 31st Iowa, from Maquoketa, Jackson County,  Iowa. The image is a chestview, he is wearing a 9 button frock coat with rank straps. The image is idd from the Llbrary of Congress,  Liljequist Family Collection. The 31st was a notable Iowa unit, serving 1862-65  campaigning in Mississippi, Tennessee, Georgia & the Carolinas. The reverse is pencil IDD and bears the photo imprint of Campbell & Ecker, Louisville, Kentucky, probably 1865 when the men were mustered out. VG w minor edge wear and tears, Overall VG. The image came with a group of 31st Iowa CDVs and comes with service info.
